Microwave Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair microwaves, and most of them fail in a handful of predictable ways. The magnetron quits making heat, so the plate spins while the food stays cold. Door switches wear out and the unit refuses to start. Control boards get flaky after a power blip. Over-the-range models cook their own grease filters and fans, and Atlanta humidity finishes the job. On a visit we test the door interlocks, check the high-voltage side safely, read the fault behavior, then tell you plainly whether a part swap makes sense or the cabinet is done. Built-in and over-the-range units usually have to come off the wall, so we plan for that. Metro drive times vary. Call us and we will schedule a realistic window.

The microwave symptoms we hear most

  • It runs but the food stays cold Magnetron, high-voltage diode, or capacitor failure
  • Nothing happens when I press start Door interlock switches, thermal fuse, or line fuse
  • Loud buzzing every time it heats Failing magnetron or a dry turntable motor bearing
  • Sparks and burn marks inside Scorched waveguide cover or damaged cavity paint
  • Keypad only takes some buttons Worn membrane touchpad or control board fault

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Plug a lamp into the outlet to confirm it has power, since plenty of over-the-range units share a tripped GFCI or breaker.

Microwave Repair — quick answers

Is a microwave worth repairing?

Often yes, especially built-in and over-the-range units, where replacing means new trim and cabinet work. Countertop models are more of a judgment call. We check the fault first, then tell you honestly whether the repair is sound or the cabinet is finished.

Why does the plate turn but nothing gets hot?

The controls and turntable motor are fine, but the high-voltage side is not producing microwaves. Usual suspects: the magnetron, diode, capacitor, or a blown high-voltage fuse. Those parts hold a dangerous charge, so leave the testing to a technician.

Can I keep using it if it sparks?

Stop using it. Sparking usually means the waveguide cover is scorched or food debris has burned onto the cavity wall. Left alone, it can take out the magnetron. Unplug the unit and call us so we can look inside.

Do you work on over-the-range and built-in models?

Yes. Those have to come down or slide out for real access, which takes more time and sometimes a second set of hands. The mounting plate, venting, and reinstall are part of the job.

How long does a repair usually take?

Many are one visit when the part is common. Control boards and magnetrons for less common models may need ordering, which adds a few days. We give you the likely timeline before we leave the first appointment.

Why does the exhaust fan smell greasy?

Grease filters load up and the blower wheel gets coated, worst in kitchens that fry often. Airflow drops and heat backs up into the cabinet. You can change filters yourself. A seized fan motor or clogged duct is our end of it.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form. Describe what the machine is doing: the noise, the smell, the error code. Brand and rough age help us load the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We schedule a window

Metro Atlanta traffic is real, so we book arrival windows that hold up. You get a heads-up before the technician rolls out, and we work around your day where routes allow.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then repair

The technician tests the unit, finds the failed part, and explains what's wrong in plain words. You approve the work before anything gets replaced. Most common parts ride on the van.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for Southern humidityDamp air punishes appliances. Dryers take longer, gaskets grow mildew, ice makers sweat and freeze up. We see these patterns weekly, so we check for them instead of chasing the obvious part first.
  • Pollen-season know-howSpring coats every condenser coil in yellow film. A fridge that struggles in April often just can't shed heat. We clean it, test airflow, and tell you what actually failed versus what was choked.
  • Six states, one teamGeorgia and the states around it. Same intake and same diagnostic approach whether you're inside the Perimeter or two hours out, with the same clear explanation at the end. One call reaches the whole service area.
  • All major brands, independentWe are not tied to any manufacturer. We service what's in your kitchen and laundry room regardless of badge, and any repair-or-replace recommendation comes from the machine itself, not a brand relationship.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Whirlpool, Samsung, GE, LG, Maytag, Bosch and more.
