Dryer Vent Cleaning & Repair — Book a Visit Today

We clean and repair dryer vents, and most "my dryer won't dry" calls in Atlanta come down to a clogged duct. Lint does not vanish. It packs into the duct, chokes airflow, and forces your dryer to run cycle after cycle. The usual culprits are a crushed flex hose behind the machine, a roof vent screen matted shut, a wall flapper stuck closed, or a disconnected joint dumping humid air into the crawlspace. Damp summer air here makes lint cling harder. A visit starts at the dryer: we pull the machine, check the transition hose, then clear the full duct run to the exterior termination with rotary brushing and vacuum. We verify airflow at the hood before we pack up, and loose or damaged duct sections get resealed or replaced. Call us and describe what your dryer is doing.

Dryer Vent Cleaning & Repair — residential dryer vent cleaning & being serviced

The dryer vent cleaning & symptoms we hear most

  • Towels take three cycles to dry Restricted duct airflow from packed lint or a crushed transition hose
  • The laundry room feels like a sauna Disconnected or leaking duct venting moist air indoors
  • Clothes come out hot but still damp Exhaust blockage trapping heat while moisture has nowhere to go
  • Something smells scorched when it runs Lint built up near the heating element or blower housing
  • No flap movement outside while the dryer runs Blocked or seized exterior vent hood, maybe a bird nest or matted screen

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Unplug the dryer, pull it forward a few inches, and look for a flex hose that is kinked or squashed against the wall.
  • 2Step outside during a cycle and feel whether warm air is pushing steadily out of the vent hood.
  • 3Pull the lint screen and hold it under running water. If water beads up instead of passing through, scrub off the softener film.
  • 4Look at the exterior hood for a stuck flapper, a matted screen, or nesting debris in the opening.

Dryer Vent Cleaning & Repair — quick answers

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

Once a year suits most households. Large families, pet hair, long duct runs, or ducts with several elbows justify more frequent service. If drying times are creeping up before the year is out, schedule sooner.

Can a clogged vent actually start a fire?

Yes. Trapped lint is dry fuel sitting next to a heat source, and blocked airflow lets the dryer run hotter than it was designed to. Keeping the duct clear and the termination open is basic fire prevention, not an upsell.

Is that white ribbed plastic hose behind my dryer a problem?

Foil and plastic flex hose crushes easily and catches lint in every ridge. Rigid or semi-rigid metal duct is safer. We swap transition hoses during a visit when we find the flimsy kind installed.

My vent exits through the roof. Can you still clean it?

Usually, yes. Roof terminations collect the most debris because gravity works against you and the screens clog. We clean from the dryer end with rotary tools, then confirm discharge at the top before we finish.

Why does my dryer shut off partway through a cycle?

Many models have a thermal limit that trips when exhaust temperature climbs too high, and restricted venting is a common trigger. Clearing the duct often resolves it. A failed thermostat or thermal fuse may also need replacing.

Can I just vent the dryer into the garage or crawlspace?

No. That dumps gallons of moisture and fine lint where it feeds mold and settles on framing. Every dryer needs a duct terminating outdoors with a working hood. We can reroute a duct that ends in the wrong place.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form. Describe what the machine is doing: the noise, the smell, the error code. Brand and rough age help us load the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We schedule a window

Metro Atlanta traffic is real, so we book arrival windows that hold up. You get a heads-up before the technician rolls out, and we work around your day where routes allow.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then repair

The technician tests the unit, finds the failed part, and explains what's wrong in plain words. You approve the work before anything gets replaced. Most common parts ride on the van.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for Southern humidityDamp air punishes appliances. Dryers take longer, gaskets grow mildew, ice makers sweat and freeze up. We see these patterns weekly, so we check for them instead of chasing the obvious part first.
  • Pollen-season know-howSpring coats every condenser coil in yellow film. A fridge that struggles in April often just can't shed heat. We clean it, test airflow, and tell you what actually failed versus what was choked.
  • Six states, one teamGeorgia and the states around it. Same intake and same diagnostic approach whether you're inside the Perimeter or two hours out, with the same clear explanation at the end. One call reaches the whole service area.
