Freezer Repair — Book a Visit Today

A freezer fails quietly. You find out when the ice cream is soup or the bottom of the bin is a sheet of frost. Common culprits: a clogged defrost drain, a failed defrost heater or thermostat, a tired evaporator fan, a door gasket that lost its seal, or a condenser coil packed with Atlanta dust and pollen. Sealed-system leaks happen too. Our visit starts with temperatures at the vents, then airflow, then the defrost cycle, then the compressor side. We explain what we find in plain words before any part goes in. We cover the metro and the surrounding counties, so tell us your area when you call us and we'll set a window that works.

  • Everything's soft but the light still comes on Sealed system or compressor/start relay failure
  • There's a wall of ice behind the back panel Defrost heater, bimetal, or control board fault

  • It runs constantly and never shuts off Dirty condenser coils, bad thermistor, or door seal leak
  • Loud whirring or clicking from the back Evaporator fan motor or relay trouble

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Verify the plug is seated and the outlet has power by testing a lamp in it.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form. Describe what the machine is doing: the noise, the smell, the error code. Brand and rough age help us load the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We schedule a window

Metro Atlanta traffic is real, so we book arrival windows that hold up. You get a heads-up before the technician rolls out, and we work around your day where routes allow.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then repair

The technician tests the unit, finds the failed part, and explains what's wrong in plain words. You approve the work before anything gets replaced. Most common parts ride on the van.

Freezer Repair — quick answers

My freezer is cold but not frozen. Is that fixable?

Usually yes. Partial cooling often points to airflow problems: a frosted evaporator, a stalled fan, or a defrost part that quit. Those are common repairs. We measure air temperature at the vents and check the defrost cycle before deciding anything.

Why does frost keep coming back after I defrost it?

Manual defrosting melts the ice but not the cause. If the heater, bimetal thermostat, or control fails, frost rebuilds within days. A door gasket that leaks humid air does the same thing. We test the defrost circuit to find which one it is.

Should I throw out the food?

Food held above 40 degrees for more than two hours is risky. Meat and dairy go first. If the freezer stays packed and closed, it can hold overnight. Move what you can to a neighbor's or a cooler with ice.

How long does a typical repair take?

Many visits finish in one trip when the part is a common fan, thermostat, gasket, or drain clog. Sealed-system work and board replacements can need a follow-up if the part must be ordered. We tell you which situation you're in on site.

Do you work on chest and garage freezers?

Yes. Standalone uprights, chest models, and the freezer half of a side-by-side or French door unit. Garage placement matters here; heat and humidity push these units hard, and some models struggle below freezing outdoors.

Is a noisy freezer urgent?

Depends on the noise. Buzzing that comes and goes is often normal cycling. Grinding, rattling, or a clicking that repeats every few minutes suggests a fan bearing or a relay trying to start the compressor. Call us before it stops entirely.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for Southern humidityDamp air punishes appliances. Dryers take longer, gaskets grow mildew, ice makers sweat and freeze up. We see these patterns weekly and check for them instead of chasing the obvious part first.
  • Pollen-season know-howSpring coats every condenser coil in yellow film. A fridge that struggles in April often just can't shed heat. We clean, test airflow, and tell you what actually failed versus what was choked.
  • Six states, one teamGeorgia and the states around it. Same intake, same diagnostic approach, same clear explanation whether you're inside the Perimeter or two hours out. One call reaches the whole service area.
